No, but don’t you see? This is going to happen at the beginning of the episode before Emma is in trouble. And Hook is going to hide his true feelings the best way he knows how. With humor. And then they’ll get interrupted before they can finish or before Hook can give a straight answer.

And then, when Emma is trapped and dying, David will see just first hand how Hook reacts to Emma in danger. He’ll see how worried he is and what lengths he would go to to save his daughter.

And when they finally get to her, he will see the relief on his face and see how he takes care of her. And later…after Emma is better Hook will say to David…

"I guess we still need to finish that talk, mate."

David pats him on the shoulder. “No need, Hook…I got my answers.” He gives him an encouraging bid of approval. “She’s lucky to have you.”

He’ll then walk off leaving Hook staring off, looking completely flabbergasted.
